Original Breton tee was created as part of the uniform for the French navy, but Coco Chanel was the one who really brought the Breton tee into the fashion world.
The iconic designer introduced the classic French style into her nautical collection in 1917. Moving the look from the working class to high fashion, and causing my Breton tee obsession. The striped tee is classic, timeless and can be styled in an infinite number of ways..it just go with everything!!
An essential wardrobe building block, either styled with a blazer, jeans or slim black trousers. In summer months, it works well with shorts or a denim skirt.
My current favourite tee is from Zara. With a feminine frill, mixing red and blue strips for something a little bit different.
Below are few my other Berton Tops I’m loving… what do you think? x
